Army man, two militants killed in Sopore encounter

The early morning gunfight erupted at Bahrampura near Rafiabad in Sopore belt has left a soldier and two militants dead. Authorities have ordered closure of all educational institutions and internet service in the area to prevent any public backlash.
Reports said that security forces, combining of army and Special Operation Group (SOG) of JK Police, launched a combing operation at Bahrampura village following a tip off about militants early on Friday morning.
Militants hiding in the village retaliated with firing on forces personnel resulting in serious i juries to a soldier identified as Brijesh Kumar. He was rushed to army hospital in Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries.
Security forces retaliated that led to a fierce encounter.
Two militants are reported to have got killed in the gunfight.
Police said that even as firing has stopped but the operation was still on. The identity of the slain militants was also being ascertained.
Authorities have closed all educational institutions in the area.
