Clashes in Kakapora after 17 students were injured in bomb blast in a private school

A mysterious blast in a private school at Narbal in Kakapora quarter of Pulwama district has left 17 students wounded causing anger in the area.

Clashes erupted between police and the angry residents when the former reached the spot. The residents threw stones on police who retaliated by cane charge and firing of tear smoke shells.

The situation is reported to be tense as three injured students have been referred to Srinagar with serious injuries. Three other injured students were referred to Pulwama district hospital while others were treated at the local hospital in Kakapora.

The blast occurred around 2 pm when students were taking tuition.

Police Version

Today at about 1430 hours some explosion took place inside the class room of standard 10 of a private school (tuition centre) known as Falai-e-Millat at Narbal in district Pulwama. In this incident reportedly 12 students have sustained injuries. They were rushed to the hospital and stated to be stable.

Police officers have reached at the spot and are ascertaining the nature and circumstances of the blast. Case has been registered and investigation is in progress.
