CRPF man killed in Tral encounter. Firing stopped, Militant hideout blasted, two militants believed to have got killed,

The CRPF man who had got wounded in firing by militants during encounter in Tral this morning has succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. He has been identified as Mashesh Kumar Mena of 180-CRPF.

Latest reports said that security forces have blasted the house by carrying out IED explosion in which militants were hiding and brought it down to smithereens. Two militants are believed to have got trapped in the house. Police sources said that firing from militants has stopped and they are believed to have got killed.

“The search operation is on. The bodies are being traced”, they said.

The encounter had erupted early in the morning after army’s 42-RR, CRPF and SOG launched a search operation at Aripal village in Tral following a tip off about militant presence in the village.
